Itinerary

Vientiane

Activities: Meet your tour guide at the airport in Vientiane and transfer to the city center. The afternoon is free for you to explore the city.

Upon arrival at Wattay International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the Laos Travel Packages tour guide and driver and transferred to the city center to check into your hotel.

The rest of the day is free for you to explore Vientiane on your own before staying overnight in this lovely city.

Wat Sisaket

Activities: Discover main sites of Vientiane such as Vat Phra Keo, Pha That Luang, Patuxay and Talat Sao market. Transfer to Vientiane airport for the flight to Xieng Khuang.

Today, you will have the opportunity to visit the highlights of Vientiane, including Vat Phra Keo, one of the most magnificent and attractive temples in the city. Vat Phra Keo was built in 1565 as a home for the Emerald Buddha. You will then visit Wat Sisaket, the oldest original temple in Vientiane, with remarkable frescoes and over 6,000 Buddha images.

Finally, transfer to Vientiane Airport for the flight to Xieng Khuang. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and relax for the rest of the day. Overnight stay in Xieng Khuang.

Plain of Jars

Activities: Explore the Plain of Jars to understand about the rural life of the local village, visit a small monastery in Ban Xiengdi.

This morning, the driver will pick you up to head to the majestic Plain of Jars, a renowned archaeological site that has puzzled scientists and historians for decades. These giant stone vessels thought to be thousands of years old lie scattered in the fields.

Next, you will stroll around a village to learn about the rural life of the local people, followed by a visit to a small monastery in Ban Xiengdi and Muang Khoun, the one place in the old provincial capital that remained after it was badly destroyed by bombs during the war.

Then, we will return to Phonesavanh to stay overnight at the hotel.

Wat Xieng Thong

Activities: Transfer from Xieng Khuang to Luang Prabang, explore Phousi Hill for an amazing panorama of the town of Luang Prabang.

This morning, you will depart for Luang Prabang via a scenic route. The drive takes around 6 hours, offering a glimpse into the daily life of local people along the way.

Lunch is at Sala Phoukhou at your own expense. After lunch, we continue to Luang Prabang, enjoying more wonderful scenery.

In the afternoon, we're about to climb to the top of Phousi Hill for spectacular panoramic views of Luang Prabang town.

End your day with a return to your hotel, and in the evening, you can relax, explore the night market, or visit the peaceful city.

Kuang Si Waterfalls

Activities: Explore the famous National Museum in Luang Prabang. Visit Kuang Si Waterfall.

After breakfast, you will take on a city tour of Luang Prabang, starting with the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, where you will discover the history of Laos. Moreover, you can visit Wat Visoun, the shrine of Wat Aham, and Wat Mai with its five impressively tiered roofs.

Then, make your way to head to Kuang Si Waterfall, southwest of Luang Prabang (32 km). The scenic drive takes about 45 minutes through lush countryside. Upon arrival at the falls, you can relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery, or swim in the cool, refreshing waters if the weather permits.

After visiting the falls, we will drive back to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon, with a stop at Ban Xangkhong village to explore hand-weaving silk and traditional Saa Paper-making.

Stay overnight in Luang Prabang.

Pak Ou Cave

Activities: Visit Wat Xieng Thong, Take a boat trip along the Mekong river and visit Pak Ou Caves.

After breakfast at your hotel, start your exploration of Luang Prabang with visits to the city’s oldest temples: Wat Sene and Wat Xieng Thong.

Then, you can hop on a traditional riverboat for a two-hour trip upstream on the Mekong River to visit the stunning Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues.

Afterward, it's time to visit Ban XangHai, a village specializing in traditional rice wine making, and stroll around Ban Pak Ou Village, a small Laotian fishermen’s village.

Conclude your Mekong River boat trip at Ban Muang Keo Village to see weavers working on the ancient loom.

Late day, return to Luang Prabang by boat and stay overnight in the city.

Ban Xang Khong

Activities: Transfer to the airport for the flight home or to other destinations.

Enjoy your delicious breakfast at your hotel, then spend the rest of the day free to explore Luang Prabang until your driver picks you up approximately 2 hours before your departure flight time for transfer to the airport.
